Can U Host? Three Recipes for Girl Dinner
For those nights when you don't want to labour for hours in the kitchen but also want to transport yourself into an elevated reality with a collagen mask and a wine.
“Girl Dinner”. Since the advent of this cultural phenomenon from the belly of the internet, I have called upon it as both prayer and anthem on those nights where the labours of kitchen craft escape me, but equally sitting down with a tin of dressed crab and a packet of crisps feels altogether too demystified. There are times where we need drama, romance, and the whisper of summer winds on the Amalfi coast; but with the absolute minimum of effort and, crucially, simple to achieve when you’ve already slammed a quarter bottle of crisp Chablis.
Ergo, I present to you now three recipes which are staples and favourites of mine on just such nights as described above. Enjoy them at your leisure and remember that each of them, to be properly appreciated, must be taken contingently with a regimen of self-care and feel-good movies.
